Liquid Face Lift Treatment TipsOne of the advantages of liquid face lift products is that you may return to most of your normal activities shortly after treatment. In addition to the recommendations below, please consult your physician for post treatment instruction.

If you experience any bruising or swelling after a liquid face lift treatment , you should avoid alcohol consumption, discontinuing the use of vitamin E, Aspirin®, herbal supplements such as St. John's Wart, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Nuprin or Advil) and naproxen (Aleve) until your swelling subsides. Following this advice will usually hasten recovery. If you need to take a pain medication, acetaminophen (Tylenol), or acetaminophen-containing products (Lortab, Vicodin, etc.) are not known to increase bruising.

Patients should avoid strenuous exercise a day or two after treatment (and perhaps until any swelling subsides), as this increases the heart rate and quickens blood-flow, which can prolong swelling. Also, it is advisable to avoid excessive exposure to the sun and elements until swelling has subsided.

Makeup may usually be worn immediately post treatment. Some physicians feel a mineral based makeup might be better at allowing your skin to breath and to hasten healing if you have any bruising. A clean makeup, preferably new makeup or pump-style makeup, is often recommended. Consult your physician.

Some physicians recommend an herbal supplement like Arnica Montana after treatment to help hasten recovery from any bruising or swelling. Some physicians do not recommend this regimen. Consult your physician.

With BOTOX® treatments, most physicians recommend that you do not lie down for a few hours after treatment. Also, avoid rubbing the area of treatment for 24 hours, and don't wear anything like a hat or headband on the treated area for a day. Some physicians recommend that you avoid strenuous activity for a day, as well. This will help the product set in the area desired.

With advanced dermal fillers, such as Juvederm® Ultra, Juvederm® Ultra Plus, Juvederm® XC , Radiesse®, Perlane® and Restylane®, most physicians will recommend that you do not rub the treated area with any force for a few days. However, with Sculptra®, it is suggested that you massage the treated area with a fair amount of pressure periodically for a few days. Sculptra® will occasionally form (mostly invisible) lumps around the treated area if not massaged immediately and periodically for a few days. Some physicians recommend a 5 - 5 - 5 regimen, massaging the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days.

If you don't already have a daily routine of using high grade skin care products, it is advisable that you begin so, after treatment. High grade or medical grade products can help prolong your results. Many cosmetic medical physicians carry a brand of medical grade products in their clinics. Ask your physician.
