How Long Does Liquid face lift Last - Get Answers

The duration of the results of a liquid face lift procedure will depend on the product (or the combination of products) used, where the product is placed, the frequency and timing of touch-up treatments, as well as the quality of medical care provided. All of these factors play key roles in how long you will see results, which may last from a few months to several years. In most cases, touch-up procedures will be required periodically for optimal results.

For most of the dermal fillers, added longevity may be achieved by returning to your physician for a touch-up while some filler is still present in the treated area because the body continues to respond with its own natural collagen production around the dermal fillers. Also, depending upon the exact nature of the procedure, physicians might choose to supplement dermal filler treatment by placing BOTOX® in muscles around the treated area to enhance and extend the results of the dermal filler. With regular touch ups, over time, many patients and physicians report that less product and less frequent procedures are required to maintain results.

A physician's injection experience and technique can play a part in the endurance of results of liquid face lift products and procedures. With experience (after the physician has performed numerous liquid face lift procedures - with several of the liquid face lift products - on various parts of the face - on varying skin types - on individuals with varying degrees of skin damage and at various ages), a physician gains a much better understanding of the subtle variations of technique required to optimize results.

The following is a guide to each product's generally expected longevity.

BOTOX® - Results usually lasts from three to six months, depending on the patient, physician technique and the area treated. Areas of lower muscle activity and patients with lower amounts of muscle mass usually require less frequent treatments. Patients may often reduce the amount of BOTOX® needed to sustain results by returning to their physician for a follow-up treatment as soon as they detect excess movement in the treated area. Some patients, over time, need fewer treatments to sustain results, as the etching of lines may relax and even disappear.

Juvederm® Ultra and Juvederm® Ultra Plus - These dermal fillers typically last up to a year or more before touch up treatments are needed. Added longevity can be achieved by returning to your physician for touch-ups while some filler is still present in the body, since the body will usually continue to respond to some degree with collagen production around these products. As with other advanced dermal fillers, many patients require less product and longer treatment intervals over time.

Radiesse® - This dermal filler can last up to a year or more before touch up treatments are necessary. Patients may prolong the life of the product by returning to their physician for regular touch-up treatments. In some instances, patients will notice temporarily diminished results a few months after the treatment, before the body begins to respond with its own collagen generation. Physician technique and area of placement both play roles in the speed in which Radiesse® is reabsorbed by the body. Patients and physicians have reported needing less product and longer intervals between touch up treatments over time, if patients are diligent in returning for touch ups before the product has completely dissipated from the body.

Sculptra® - Results of each treatment will last up to 2 years or more. Physician technique and experience can affect the life of the treatment, as Sculptra® requires a unique injection technique in relation to other dermal fillers. Other factors such as the patient's age and amount of long-term exposure to the sun might also alter the effectiveness and life of a Sculptra® treatment. To sustain results of Sculptra® treatments after 2 years and for up to a lifetime, patients should return to their physician for touch-up treatments periodically. It is advisable to return for touch-up treatments before Sculptra® has completely dissolved and been absorbed by the body. Many physicians recommend 2 or 3 treatments the first year, with touch-up treatments every year thereafter.

Restylane® and Perlane® - Results generally last between 4 to 9 months or more before touch up treatments are needed to sustain results. Added longevity may be achieved by returning to your physician for a touch-up while some filler is still present in the body, since the body will usually continue to respond to some degree with collagen production around the dermal filler. As with other advanced dermal fillers, many patients require less product and longer treatment intervals over time.

BellaFill® - This product is dual acting. The initial collagen portion of the product shows immediate results that begin to diminish in a few weeks. After 3 months, however, the long-term effects of the second portion of the product, PMMA microspheres, begin to show results. A syringe of BellaFill® contains about a thimble-full of the PMMA microspheres, which begin to stimulate and mesh with the body’s own collagen after about 90 days. This portion of the product lasts at least 5 years, and some of the effects will last as long as a lifetime because it is not reabsorbed by the body.
