Tina S. Alster, M.D. has performed nearly 10,000 non-surgical facial contouring procedures using advanced injection techniques with liquid face lift products. She has been recognized by Allergan as a Diamond BOTOX®/Juvederm® Provider, signifying extensive experience. Dr. Alster practices in Washington, D.C.
Authoring over 300 manuscripts and six textbooks on the subject of cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery, including Cosmetic Laser Surgery and the Manual of Cutaneous Laser Techniques, Dr. Alster has been published widely in peer-reviewed medical journals. Her honors include listings in America’s Best Doctors, Town & Country’s Best Cosmetic Surgeons, America’s Elite 1000, Allure’s Influencer of the Year, and Washingtonian’s Best Doctors.
Including the original FDA trials for Botox® Cosmetic, Dr. Alster has been involved as a clinical investigator for several novel neurotoxins and filling agents. Dr. Alster is a frequent international speaker and lecturer to physicians in the field of cosmetic dermatologic surgery.
As well as being the founding director of the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery, Dr. Alster is a Clinical Professor at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. She received her B.S. and M.D. degrees from Duke University and she completed her Dermatology residency at Yale University and additionally, a specialized 1-year laser surgery fellowship in Boston.
Dr. Alster has served on the board of directors for the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She was the recipient of the 2001 ASLMS Leon Goldman Award and the 2006 ASDS Public Service Award. She maintains leadership and board positions in numerous other professional organizations, including the Dermatology Foundation and Duke University. Dr. Alster serves as the consulting dermatologist to Lancôme.
In addition to liquid face lift procedures, Dr. Alster performs a complete menu of cosmetic medical and dermatologic procedures, including Ultherapy, cellulite treatment, BOTOX® wrinkle correction, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and CO2 laser skin resurfacing. She also offers laser treatments for facial resurfacing and rejuvenation, scar revision, birthmark removal, hair removal, tatoo removal, acne, rosacea, broken capillaries and spider veins.
