Many individuals are concerned about the contour or imperfections of their noses. For this reason, a surgical nose job, known as a rhinoplasty, is the third most popular cosmetic surgical procedure. In 2007, 152,000 Americans underwent rhinoplasty procedures to surgically correct or enhance misshapen noses.1
However the number of rhinoplasty procedures performed in 2007 was down over 25%
since the turn of the century,
partly because of a non surgical rhinoplasty
alternative developed by a small group of leading physicians. While surgery may
still be the best option for many individuals, the non surgical nose job alternative
is a viable option for a large number of rhinoplasty candidates.
In this section, we will discuss how physicians are using progressive medical techniques and advanced liquid face lift products, including Juvederm®, Radiesse® and Restylane® to resolve the appearance of bumps, drooping tips and crooked noses in many instances, without the risks of surgery.

The procedure is sometimes called the 15 minute nose job or the 10 minute nose job because it typically takes between 10 and 15 minutes. It is also sometimes called a Radiesse Rhinoplasty or Radiesse nose job because the advanced dermal filler, Radiesse®, is often used by physicians in the procedure due to its unique filler properties. Other advanced dermal fillers, like Restylane®, Perlane® and Juvederm® are also used in the procedure, depending upon physician preferences. So in some cases, you may hear the procedure called an injection rhinoplasty or injection nose job, as well. The 10 minute non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure requires no sedation, and patients are back to most normal routines following the 10 or 15 minute non-surgical nose job.
In the first step, the physician applies a topical numbing cream or anesthetic.
After the area to be treated is numbed, advanced dermal fillers, such as Radiesse®
and Restylane® are applied to fill in depressions, smooth out sharp
angles, and perhaps to change the angle of the tip of the nose.
The procedure is designed to restore the desired facial symmetry and to make the nose contour more appealing. Since you are awake, you may interact with the physician with the goal of achieving your desired results. While the procedure won’t reduce bumps in the nose, it can effectively mask the bump, so that in many instances, a bump is not noticeable or visible.
Side effects may include some bruising or swelling at the treatment site, which
typically subside quickly; however it is not uncommon for there to be almost no
bruising and minimal swelling. Please consult your physician for a complete list
of potential side effects. Depending upon the products chosen,
results may last from 6 months to several years.
When selecting a physician for the procedures mentioned above, it is important to select a physician with a depth of experience with each particular technique for optimal results and safety.
