Dr. Merkel has performed thousands of non-surgical facial contouring procedures using advanced injection techniques with liquid face lift products such as Radiesse^®, Restylane^®, Perlane^®, Juvederm^®, as well as BOTOX^® and Dysport^®. Dr. Merkel received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine, followed by his General Surgery Residency in Denver, Colorado at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and his Facial Plastic Surgery Residency at Brown University Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Merkel is board certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABPRS).

In addition to serving as Medical Director of Plastic Surgery Specialists, Dr. Merkel maintains a rigorous schedule of continuing education, attending seminars, conventions and special courses nationally and internationally. These educational experiences allow Dr. Merkel to learn the most advanced procedures and techniques in his specialty. His clinical accomplishments have earned him Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
