In addition to traditional facelift and blepharoplasty procedures, Theda Kontis, MD, FACS offers non-surgical face lift and blepharoplasty alternatives with liquid face lift procedures. Dr. Kontis has performed over 4,000 non-invasive liquid facelift procedures, using advanced injection techniques, with advanced dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Juvederm®, Radiesse®, Sculptra® Aesthetic, Perlane® and ArteFill®, as well as with BOTOX®. She instructs other physicians on advanced injection techniques as a member of the Allergan National Education Faculty and serves on their National Exchange Forum. Dr. Kontis has been recognized by Allergan as a Platinum BOTOX® and Juvederm® Provider and by Medicis as a Platinum Restylane® Provider, signifying extensive experience with products used in a liquid face lift procedure. Dr. Kontis practices at Facial Plastic Surgicenter in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Baltimore Magazine features Dr. Kontis frequently for her expertise in the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery of the face as well as nasal and ear reconstruction. Dr. Kontis is co-author of one of the definitive physician injection reference guides, Cosmetic Injection Techniques: A Text and Video Guide to Neurotoxins and Fillers. This guide is used by physicians across the U.S. She is also actively involved with One World Sight Project, an organization dedicated to preventing and curing blindness around the globe. 
In addition to her private practice in Baltimore, Dr. Kontis is an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, where she has received the Teaching Award for excellence. Dr. Kontis serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), and chairs the committee preparing new written items for the Board Examination in Facial Plastic Surgery. She served as Co-Chair of the 2010 Fall Meeting of the AAFPRS in Boston. Dr. Kontis also reviews the editorial content for the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Kontis received her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Dr. Kontis is Board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
