In addition to traditional face lift and blepharoplasty procedures, David W. Kim, M.D. offers non-surgical face lift and blepharoplasty alternatives with Liquid Face Lift products. Dr. Kim has performed thousands of non-surgical facial contouring procedures using advanced injection techniques with liquid face lift products such as Radiesse®, Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm®, and Sculptra®, as well as BOTOX® and Dysport®. Dr. Kim received his medical degree and surgical residency training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Diego Medical School. He completed his specialty training with a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Kim is dual board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.
Dr. Kim has produced over 50 peer-reviewed papers, articles and chapters in medical literature, and taught at over 50 conferences throughout the world. In addition, he has an extensive research background and is currently conducting several studies that aim to objectively test current methods used in facial plastic surgery and to find objective, patient-based outcome measures for facial plastic and reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Kim serves as a Clinical Associate Professor, remaining actively involved in teaching facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in the Otolaryngology residency program and medical school at UCSF. He is on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), and participates in numerous committees for medical professional organizations
Dr. Kim has been elected by his peers into “Best Doctors of America”, and has earned the “Patient’s Choice Award” for five consecutive years. He is listed in Who’s Who in America, and provides expert commentary on facial plastic surgery to national and local media including Discovery Health Channel, KCBS, The CW, and KCBS Radio.
Dr. Kim is the principal investigator of the first ever multi-center, prospective quality of life study investigating the effectiveness of functional rhinoplasty for nasal obstruction. This study showed for the first time that rhinoplasty (in addition to traditional breathing operations such as septoplasty) can lead to significant breathing improvements and quality of life enhancement in patients. Considered a landmark study, Dr. Kim was awarded the prestigious AAFPRS Investigator Development Grant to support this research.
Dr. Kim and his staff offer an extensive selection of surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic medical procedures. In addition to non-surgical Liquid Face Lift procedures with Juvederm® & Radiesse®, as well as BOTOX®, Dr. Kim provides treatments to dramatically reduce the visible signs of aging, including wrinkle correction and facial rejuvenation. They are trained in today's most effective in-office procedures for facial rejuvenation, including fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing (with the state of the art Lumenis Active and Deep FX), and IPL - Intense Pulsed Light - skin resurfacing.
